Good luck!
• Choose 5 pieces of work to upload to a blog post. (Depending on the size and type of the file, you may embed it so that it appears directly on the blog page, or post a link which will open the document when you click on it). Examples may include short videos, photos, Word documents, spreadsheets or Powerpoint presentations. Try to choose different sorts of files and activities.
• Upload each one to a separate post, complete with a suitable heading and a paragraph describing the task, or reflecting on their learning or group work..
• Visit 5 other students’ blogs to leave constructive comments or ask questions about their work.
Respond appropriately to comments about your own work.
Computer Task:
John Smith has just opened up a folder. He can’t find his work though as it is all over the place. How can you make it more accessible for John? It needs to be organised in a systematically and logical way. What are some of the things you have to do?
Hi everyone – glad to see you’re all back safe and well from your holidays. It has been great catching up with some of you and hearing about your last two weeks. The English homework for this week was missing a sentence – the missing part is written here in red.
Option 1: Grammar and punctuation: Nouns: Concrete and abstract
Nouns may be concrete (things you can see, hear or touch) or abstract (things you cannot see, hear or touch, such as qualities or feelings). Brainstorm ten concrete nouns and ten abstract nouns.
Hi team! How are you?? Well, I’m here in very sunny Queensland, enjoying some great teaching and discussions about learning and technology. You will be impressed to know I have borrowed an iPod Touch for the conference and am learning how to use it (you’d be so proud of me!).
One of the things we have heard about this morning is the difference between how teachers think we should teach, and how students think they should teach. This got me thinking – about what you think! If you could give teachers one golden piece of advice, what would it be? What are the top 3 things that help you learn? Some feedback would be interesting (maybe this can feed into your ‘What makes a great teacher?’ project). Leave a comment to share your thoughts.
So….I’m dying to know if you’ve had a chance to work on 6R VIP today – I hope so, and I can’t wait to see it! Keep me updated. I think one of the things that makes me most proud of you guys is the way you work together on different aspects of just one class project – what a co-operative, collaborative and creative bunch you are!
OK, better get back to paying attention – missing you all, have a great day!
A number of people have spoken to me regarding the maths homework this week (Happy Numbers) and have found sources saying the same thing – that numbers ending in 1 are designated as ‘happy’, whereas numbers that repeat a cycle (such as 42 – etc) are called ‘unhappy’. (This is the reverse of what we labelled in class last week). According to the sources I was using, our process and solutions in class were correct – however I too have conducted a Google search! and have found confirmation from a number of sources that we were back-to-front! I apologise for confusion and thanks to those people who came to speak to me about it today (or who have commented on the blog). SO…… for the sake of homework already completed, don’t worry if you have followed the process we used in class – just hand in what you have worked on. If you have followed other sources which use numbers ending in 1 as happy (and repeating ccles as unhappy) – that’s fine too. Perhaps you could include a sentence to tell me how you have worked out your solutions.
I hope that helps! See you tomorrow!
Yesterday we had a look at how telescopes work. We made two different kinds – reflective and refractive telescopes. Look at the following links about The Hubble telescope.

Now write a post on your own blog with some interesting facts about the Hubble telescope (in your own words, of course!).
